Use Case ยท Military

One operating picture, no infrastructure required

Give every element the same live map, push and receive tasking, and keep voice and text up when there is no network to lean on. TAK server, mesh, a field server, and an optional satellite uplink โ€” a self-contained common operating picture that deploys with the unit.

The problem

The network is the first thing you lose

Units operate where fixed infrastructure is absent, degraded, or denied. Element positions drift out of contact, tasking arrives late, and voice falls back to a single congested net. MAGK carries the common operating picture over its own mesh, hosted on a field server the unit brings with it, so awareness and comms survive with no reachback at all.

What you can do

What the unit gets

Common picture

Every element on one map

Positions, contacts, and markers from ATAK, iTAK, and WinTAK on one shared picture, spoken over standard Cursor on Target so any TAK client interoperates.

  • Live blue-force positions across the whole element
  • Markers, graphics, and points of interest shared instantly
  • Standard CoT โ€” no proprietary client lock-in
  • Works with the TAK clients operators already carry

Tasking

Push tasking to the right people

Objectives and overlays are scoped to the groups that need them, so a tasking reaches the assigned element and no one else, and updates propagate as the picture changes.

  • Objectives and overlays delivered to specific groups
  • Group-scoped visibility keeps tasking compartmented
  • Updates propagate to every client on the mesh
  • Attach imagery and detail to a located task

Comms

Voice and text with no reachback

Text and voice ride the MAGK Net mesh with no carrier or satellite dependency, so the element stays in contact when every other link is down.

  • Text and voice over the mesh, no cellular required
  • Group-scoped channels keep traffic compartmented
  • Messages queue through coverage gaps and send on reconnect
  • Degrades gracefully as nodes drop and rejoin

Field server & uplink

Deploys with the unit

A field server hosts the TAK server on site, so the picture works with zero reachback. Add a satellite uplink for higher-echelon visibility, and losing that uplink never interrupts the element on the ground.

  • Full picture and comms with no uplink present
  • Clients associate to the field server over MAGK Net
  • Optional satellite uplink for reachback when available
  • Uplink loss does not degrade the on-site picture

How it connects

TAK, Net, and Devices working together

The shared picture, the connection that carries it, and the kit that runs it in the field.

  1. MAGK TAK

    The shared picture

TAK server and client. Positions, tasking, overlays, and group-scoped visibility, spoken over standard Cursor on Target.

  2. MAGK Net

    The connection

Mesh radio that carries the picture, text, and voice where fixed infrastructure is absent or denied.

  3. MAGK Devices

    The field kit

Field server and end-user hardware. Hosts TAK on site and links the element into the mesh, with an optional satellite uplink.

Clients connect to the field server over MAGK Net. The server hosts TAK on site, so the element keeps a live picture with no reachback. A satellite uplink adds higher-echelon visibility when present; when it drops, the on-site picture carries on uninterrupted.
