1. Who we are
MAGK Tech (operated by MAGK, LLC, "MAGK," "we," "us," or "our") provides tactical mesh networking hardware, software feature subscriptions, and managed event hosting through magktech.com (the "Service"). This policy describes what personal information we collect through the Service, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights available to you.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Account information: name, email address, and password (if you sign up with email) or your provider profile if you use social sign-in (Google, GitHub, Facebook, or Apple).
- Profile information: phone number and date of birth, if you choose to add them to your account.
- Shipping addresses: name, street address, city, state, postal code, and country for any address you save or use at checkout.
- Order information: the products purchased, quantities, and pricing for each order.
- Warranty claims: a description of the reported issue when you file a manufacturer-defect claim on a purchased product.
- Communications: messages you send us for support, warranty, or other inquiries.
- Wishlist: the products you choose to save for later.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Session and device information: IP address and user-agent string, recorded when you sign in, for security and fraud-prevention purposes.
2.3 Information from third parties
- Social sign-in: if you sign in with Google, GitHub, Facebook, or Apple, we receive the name, email address, and profile information those providers make available to us, subject to your privacy settings with that provider.
- Payment processing: Stripe, our payment processor, shares limited transaction and billing information with us (e.g., that a payment succeeded, the last four digits of a card) — we never receive or store full payment card numbers ourselves.
3. How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account, and authenticate you when you sign in.
- To process orders, subscriptions, and hosted-event bookings, including fulfillment, shipping, and billing.
- To provide customer support, including responding to warranty claims and account inquiries.
- To send transactional communications — order confirmations, shipping updates, account security notices, and warranty-claim status — regardless of your marketing preferences below.
- To send product news and promotional communications, but only if you've opted in.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To comply with our legal obligations, including tax, accounting, and recordkeeping requirements.
4. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Service, each acting under their own privacy terms and only for the purpose of providing their service to us:
- Stripe — payment processing and billing.
- Shippo — shipping label generation and package tracking (your shipping address and package details are shared with the shipping carrier you select).
- Google, GitHub, Facebook, and Apple — only if you choose to sign in using one of these providers.
- Our email delivery provider, to send transactional and (if opted in) marketing email.
- Law enforcement and public authorities, only as described in Section 6 below.
- A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to the same protections described in this policy.
5. Your rights and choices
- Access and correction: you can view and update your profile, addresses, and communication preferences at any time from your account page.
- Marketing opt-out: you can opt out of marketing communications at any time from your account's Communication Preferences panel. This does not affect transactional communications, which are necessary to service your account and orders.
- Account deletion: you can request deletion of your account and associated personal data from your account's Security panel at any time. If you signed in with Facebook, removing MAGK Tech from your Facebook account settings will also trigger deletion of your MAGK Tech account and data.
- Data portability and regional rights: depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA, including the right to request a copy of your data or to object to certain processing. Contact us using the information in Section 8 to exercise these rights.
6. Government and law enforcement requests
From time to time, we may receive requests from government agencies or law enforcement for information about our users. We take the following approach to these requests:
- Legal review. Every request is reviewed for legal validity — including proper legal process (e.g., subpoena, court order, or warrant, as applicable) and jurisdiction — before any information is disclosed.
- Right to challenge. We reserve the right to challenge requests we believe are overbroad, unlawful, or not properly issued, including seeking to narrow, quash, or otherwise contest them through appropriate legal channels.
- Data minimization. When we are legally required to respond, we disclose only the minimum information necessary to satisfy the specific request.
- Documentation. We maintain records of requests received, our legal assessment, our response, and the personnel involved, consistent with our internal request-handling procedure.
- Notice. Where legally permitted, we will attempt to notify the affected user before disclosing their information in response to a government request.
Our internal procedure for handling these requests is maintained separately and is subject to ongoing legal review; this section will be updated to remain consistent with that procedure.
7. Data retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Order and transaction records are retained as required for tax, accounting, and warranty purposes even after account deletion, with personal identifiers minimized where feasible. Data-deletion request records (including those received via Facebook's Data Deletion Callback) are retained as a compliance record even after the associated account is removed.
8. Contact us
Questions about this policy or requests regarding your personal information can be sent to privacy@magktech.com.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
